      1. What is the Mosque of Al-Bay’ah?

It is a historic mosque located at the base of Mount Thabeer, near the Jamarat Bridge in Mina. It is about 300 to 500 meters from Jamrat Al-Aqabah

The mosque was built in the year 144 AH by the order of the Abbasid Caliph Abu Ja’far Al-Mansur

The mosque is associated with a major event in the Prophet’s biography—when the Ansar pledged allegiance to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to support and defend him. This pledge, known as the Pledge of Al-Aqabah, took place at this very location before the Prophet’s migration to Madinah

There are two stones in the mosque. One bears the inscription: “By the order of Abdullah, Commander of the Faithful—may Allah honor him—this mosque was built: the Mosque of the Pledge, where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was first pledged allegiance by the Ansar, arranged by his uncle Al-Abbas ibn Abdul-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him).” The second stone provides identification of the mosque and states that it was built in the year 144 AH. A third stone had been missing for centuries until it was rediscovered by modern researchers a few years ago. It documents the mosque’s renovation during the reign of the Abbasid Caliph Al-Mustansir in the year 629 AH.

The mosque still stands today. It has been developed and restored while preserving its architectural identity, as part of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques.

Yes, the mosque is open to visitors and regularly receives those coming to see this historic site.
